26.2 mile tour...

IMG_2292 EMOTIONAL... as I prepare for my first marathon... Tomorrow, on October 12, 2014, I will be stepping up to that start line along with 44,999 other runners to celebrate our journey. This will be our cherry on top of our very flavorful sundae and I'm so freaking excited!!! There was a lot more than what you saw on social media. Many moments behind the scenes of fear of failing... Moments of exhaustion, but know that you're "suppose" to run and just have to go out there and do it. Moments of "what the heck did I get myself into?" Moments of happy tears because you realize that you can run 18 miles after working 12 hours on your feet the previous day. Moments of failing to complete your miles, for one reason or another... Moments of mental battle to just run one.more.mile, and then another one after that... Moments when you feel deflated because of that run, but realize that you need to get back up because no one else will do it for you... Moments when you realize that you're stronger than you think... The last several weeks of training was the real test. Every week was a milestone because it was farther and farther... Moments of pure joy when you realize you just went farther than last week, again... Moments of gratitude... They said to dedicate each mile to someone who inspires you and run it for them. I will be smiling and thinking about them at every one of those 26.2 miles. To my 26, you know who you are. Thank you so much for your love and support. You all inspire me each and everyday. Tomorrow, I get to have my cherry on top and celebrate those moments with fellow runners. Every runner has a reason and I will think of my reason every step of the way. There's not many "first's" in life and I want to celebrate and have fun on my last, first marathon, ugly cry and all.
